(Click here to post your own answers for this meme.)
| ✓ I miss somebody right now. (Being able to drive to friends' houses or being able to walk down the hall to friends' rooms sounds good right about now.) |
× I don't watch much TV these days. (I could have checked that, but I'm watching Frasier on Lifetime right now...) |
✓ I own lots of books. (And read them ridiculously quickly.) |
| ✓ I wear glasses or contact lenses. (Only for distance: driving, watching television, and movies in the cinema.) |
× I love to play video games. (I love the idea of playing video games...) |
✓ I've tried marijuana. (Yessiree. But I don't miss it at all.) |
| ✓ I've watched porn movies. (And don't think there's anything with this "genre".) |
✓ I have been the psycho-ex in a past relationship. (Unfortunately. I've also been on the other side though.) |
✓ I believe honesty is usually the best policy. |
| ✓ I curse sometimes. (I curse ALL THE TIME.) |
✓ I have changed a lot mentally over the last year. (I would be concerned if most people didn't check this.) |
× I carry my knife/razor everywhere with me. |

Don't You Forget About Me - Simple Minds |

My conversation on the cell phone:
Friend: So, did she say anything? Me: Something to the effect that most of her (my gynecologist) patients have piercings above the waist and not below it. Cute guy waiting at the counter with me: *interested but also slightly frightened look directed at me*

Ophelia. There’s rosemary, that’s for remembrance; pray, love, remember; and there is pansies, that’s for thoughts.
Laertes. A document in madness, thoughts and remembrance fitted.
Ophelia. There’s fennel for you, and columbines; there’s rue for you, and here’s some for me; we may call it herb of grace o’ Sundays. O, you must wear your rue with a difference. There’s a daisy. I would give you some violets, but they wither’d all when my father died. They say he made a good end.

I'm at a point where I don't want to be here so much that I'm not trying anymore. I'm doing my work half-assed, not going to some classes, not emailing or getting in touch with the people I'm supposed to...and it's getting to the point where I know I'm going to be in deep shit. I emailed my art teacher too late to tell her I've been sick and that's why I didn't come to class; she had already called the registrar. She did email me back and told me that she understood and we made arrangements to meet on Monday or Wednesday so I can play catch up on what I've missed. It isn't a total lie that I told her; my stomach has been misbehaving and not letting me digest things properly, the effect being vomiting and other unpleasantness. I tend to freak out pretty easily though, and a woman from the registrar emailed me telling me that I had to drop Art. I know that I won't because I got in touch with the professor, but it's pretty difficult to just brush that off. I just want it to be May and be done with this place. I don't want to be here at all.

What is with this weird feeling of a separation of my brain, body and heart everytime I think about them. I'm not jealous, because I don't want to be with either of them. Maybe it's envy? I do want to be with someone, and have been fighting against the sick, lonely feeling of singlehood for awhile. I don't think that's what it is either though. Maybe it's the knowledge that what they're doing might end up badly for not only each of them, but also for his real girlfriend, and their friendship.

I love autumn. It's definately my favorite holiday followed closely by winter. This year's autumn has been ridiculous, however, due to the strange weather patterns. It did not get cold enough for the leaves to turn at there normal time (mid-October) and even now they aren't completely turning. It was in the mid-60s today, which in my opinion is way too warms for the first day of November. Some of the plants around campus are finally turning, but I'm afraid most of them will simply lose their leaves instead of having them turn the rich colors that are specific to the New England region. Needless to say I'm going to go on snap-happy overdrive in the next week or so to try and not miss anything during my last autumn at college.

| 12 Reasons Homosexuals Should Not Be Able to Marry |
[27 Feb 2004|03:35pm] |
Taken from fairytaleofnew and gramophone
1. Homosexuality is not natural, much like eyeglasses, polyester, and birth control.
2. Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. Infertile couples and old people can't legally get married because the world needs more children.
3. Obviously, gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
4. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if Gay marriage is allowed, since Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage was meaningful.
5. Heterosexual marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are property, blacks can't marry whites, and divorce is illegal.
6. Gay marriage should be decided by people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of the minorities.
7. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
8. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
9. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
10. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why single parents are forbidden to raise children.
11. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms because we haven't adapted to things like cars or longer life spans.
12. Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name are better, because a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. Separate schools for African-Americans worked just as well as separate marriages for gays and lesbians will.
